We have made some changes to when debates are posted and how we notify members that the website has been updated with new debates to ensure that everyone has a chance to look at upcoming topics and sign up as quickly as possible. Sign me up for Impromptu please. However, I would comment that debating has become so popular it has become increasingly difficult to find a spot to debate. I signed up for debating to practice speaking in a casual environment. I am a member and I have not had a chance to debate this season because I am having challenges with my schedule and sign ups as I said, seems to fill up much more quickly than before. Although I recognize that this is my own challenge, I wonder if the club has thought about different options to give a better chance for all members to debate at least once during the season?

Astrida,

We received your earlier resignation as PM and removed you from the agenda. Normally, if you sign up for any position and need to cancel, you are responsible to find a replacement. However, we understood there were extenuating circumstances and made the exception in this case. I would prefer to not continue shuffling the positions in and out, so the position will remain open for other volunteers at this time. I’ll send a separate e-mail to discuss. Thanks.
