Debating Skills: Prioritizing effectively on short notice, Presence as a speaker


Come and have fun and learn with and from each other at the last of the Education Workshops in the 2004-05 season - Tuesday March 29th 7.30-9.30 p.m. at the Swansea Town Hall.
The participatory workshop will be co-facilitated with different members taking responsibility for different components.. A detailed workshop plan is available by clicking on the link below.


Workshop Overview:
a) Welcome and introductions (10 minutes)
b) Part 1 (40 minutes): Prioritizing effectively on short notice - getting ready for the impromptu, the role as leader of the opposition or debating where the topic or your role is given to you at short notice. Includes exercises and examples.
c) 10 minute break
d) Part 2: (50 minutes) Presence as a speaker - voice, speed and volume, body language, gesture, posture, - dos and don'ts. Includes practice exercises and feedback.
e) Workshop evaluation and wind up. (10 minutes)
